Here are three most common reasons why people plateau when it comes to seeing results in the gym.
1. Not Recording Your Weights.
You need to know where you are in order to do more in your next session. This is how you will progress. If you are doing the same weights/reps then your body will have no reason to build muscle, strength, fitness and burn fat. Having a Logbook to track your weights and reps will give you the information that you need to make progress.
2. Not Getting Enough Sleep.
Aim to get 7 hours of sleep per night. Having a inconsistent sleep routine will affect your ability to train by hindering your recovery. A lack of sleep increases your body’s level of stress which will affect your bodies ability to build muscle and strength.
3. The Weights Are Too Light.
To build muscle, strength, fitness and burn fat you will need to lift heavier weights between 1-12 reps. It is easier to train close to failure if you are lifting heavier weights. Aiming to train 2-3 reps away from failure is important as this will stimulate muscle growth.
